Factory Reset
Reset SiteQuest to its original state.
A factory reset wipes all your local data and returns SiteQuest to its fresh-install state.
What Gets Reset
- Your sidebar items (pinned/unpinned tabs)
- Settings and preferences
- Custom prompts and tags
- Download history
- Companion progress (local only)
Your account data on the server is not affected. If you're signed in, your data will sync back down after the reset.
When to Factory Reset
- You're experiencing persistent issues
- You want to start fresh
- You're selling or giving away your computer
How to Factory Reset
Open Settings
Scroll to the bottom and click Advanced
Click Factory Reset
Confirm that you want to proceed
SiteQuest will close. When you open it again, it will be like the first time.
A factory reset cannot be undone. Make sure you want to do this before confirming.
After the Reset
Since your account is still active:
- Sign in again to restore cloud-synced data (Pro users)
- Companions and streak data will sync from the server
- Local settings and sidebar items will be at defaults
If you're not a Pro subscriber, your local data will be lost. Make sure you don't need anything before resetting.
